Kimura is a pianist internationally active in both classical and popular styles. She received her M.M. in both Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano from the University of New Mexico, where she graduated with distinction honors. As an award-winning pianist, her concert performances have spanned three continents. She has been working with NDI-NM since 2007 and has served as a Residency Music Director and Albuquerque Associate Music Director. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico – Gallup. Greatly in demand as a freelance collaborative pianist, she actively performs at NDI New Mexico, Opera West and various settings while also taking part in numerous international recording projects for broadcast use and other media.
