Olivia Parent recently received her B.A. from Pacific University Department of Dance. As an undergrad, she had an emphasis on creating accessible & safe dance spaces for all dancers. She has been trained in many styles including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, and improvisation while specializing in contemporary floorwork and creative movement. Olivia has performed in all of her college’s dance productions as well as ACDA’s Northwest Dance Conference. She recently attended the National Dance Education Conference in 2022 where she took Dance and Disability classes that have informed her current teaching. Olivia has trained with NDI New Mexico through our Teaching Excellence Workshop as well as Allegra Lillard’s Teaching Excellence for Young Children/Dance for Joy training, and is excited to launch her career in dance education with NDI New Mexico. Her biggest goal is to make dance accessible to all children and give back to the Dance Barns because that is where her love for dance was fostered.
