Patience Stevens

Dance Barns Teaching Artist

Patience grew up in Fort Myers, Florida, where she explored many styles of dance including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, flamenco, and Hawaiian dance at Dance Bochette studio. Once she started college in Boston, she narrowed in on tap dance and started teaching and choreographing tap dances for her fellow students to perform. She continued to teach and choreograph throughout grad school in Pittsburgh while she worked towards her PhD in Psychology. Over the course of her time tap dancing, she has had the privilege of taking classes from distinguished performers such as Derick Grant, Caleb Teicher, Michelle Dorrance, and Dianne Walker, and she aims to pass on their styles and traditions to her students. She is very excited to join the Santa Fe Dance Barns community as a teaching artist.
