Sage Simpson is an interdisciplinary dance artist and theatrical lighting designer. Dance has been a part of Sage’s life since she was a child and has always played an important role in her creative expression. They studied Contemporary Dance at the University of New Mexico, where they were also exposed to and found a passion for theatrical lighting design specifically for Dance Performances. Since graduating from UNM, Sage has designed lighting for The ABQ Burlesque Festival, The Contemporary Dance Festival and local dance artists including Elyse Fahey and Lorie House. Sage has been a performer in a variety of Dance Projects, hosted a movement workshop with an international radio show called Limits.fm, and has choreographed for a feature film and a music video. Sage is passionate about movement and finds dance present in multiple ways of her life. She is looking forward to teaching young students how to be comfortable in their bodies and experience the inspiration that dance can bring to people in all walks of life.
