Helen Wertheim served as President and CEO of Charter Insurance Services, selling the business in 2009. Since then, Helen has focused on philanthropy, driven by her desire to promote change that positively impacts the lives of others and her community.
Helen currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for Southwest Center for Advancing Clinical and Translational Innovation (SW CACTI), a collaboration between University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, University of Arizona Health Sciences and Banner Health, Presbyterian Community Health Advisory Board, Bio5 Business Advisory Board – a biomedical research division of the University of Arizona, and a member of the International Women’s Forum.
Helen’s previous community work and recognitions include serving on the Presbyterian Health Plan Board of Trustees, Presbyterian Healthcare Services Quality Committee and its Governance Committee; Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance Forward Fund Board; United Way of Central New Mexico Board, co-creating and co-chairing Mission Families, Campaign Chair, and chairing the Women In Philanthropy Council, as well as establishing the Women’s Self-Sufficiency Endowment–United Way awarded Helen the Art Spiegel Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions; The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board and received the Chairman’s Award for Excellence and the Leadership Albuquerque Alumni Association Leadership Award; YWCA Women on the Move Leadership award and was a Governor’s appointee to the New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women.
Ms. Wertheim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Sciences from the University of Arizona.
