Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico and raised near the Rio Grande River in rural San Pedro, Estevan Gonzales comes from a family that values New Mexico’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, quality education, community engagement, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
With 55 years in the broadcast industry, his parents were radio pioneers in Northern New Mexico who produced content that was both entertaining and informative.
Today, public service continues with KSWV radio. Owned and operated by Mr. Gonzales and his family, KSWV Suave Radio offers hyper-local content and a totally unique listener experience that shatters the radio norm with talk, podcasts, video streaming local sports and a music selection that is unique, entertaining and customized to Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.
Mr. Gonzales oversees all operations which include content programming, community engagement, sales, legal and regulatory affairs.
Mr. Gonzales attended public schools in Northern New Mexico including Gonzales Elementary, Sombrillo Elementary, Pojoaque Middle School and Pojoaque High School. He is a Crimson Scholar graduate from New Mexico State University having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in mathematics. He also received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University with a breadth of study in Technology Entrepreneurship.
Mr. Gonzales resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife Adi-Risa Gonzales and their three children Adaiah, Asher and Amarisa. His son Adaiah graduated from NDI New Mexico’s outreach program Celebration Team after five years of participation. His son Asher is in his fifth year with NDI New Mexico’s outreach program and his second year with The Dance Barns Company Junior Apprentice Program. His daughter, Amarisa, is currently enrolled in NDI New Mexico’s outreach program and Senior SWAT. His nephew Joshua Gonzales, is a captain with the Santa Fe Fire Department and has participated in NDI New Mexico’s end-of-year program for many years.
Mr. Gonzales is on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Broadcasters Association and is a Board Trustee at Santa Fe Prep.
Mr. Gonzales’ purpose is to bring heart, healing and soul to business and leadership to help build a better world for all.
On his spare time, Mr. Gonzales enjoys cooking at home, family movie nights, listening to music, playing golf and discovering new life experiences.
