Ages 16+
These are not drop-in classes. Students will register in advance and attend all classes in the series. You do not have to perform in the showing to participate in the class. Tuition is $50-$60 for the 5-6 week session.

Class Offerings
Beginning/Intermediate Tap
Teaching Artist: Feli Blea
Tuesdays May 20 – June 24 | 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
6 week session $60
This class is an introduction to tap, where we get comfortable in our tap shoes (our instruments). We work on basic steps and techniques that will eventually help us with combinations.
Advanced Tap
Teaching Artist: Feli Blea
Tuesdays May 20 & 27 | 6:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Mondays June 2, 9, 16, & 23 | 6:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
6-week session $60
This class is for returning dancers that are prepared to advance to the next level. The exercises are more complex, and our speed will increase as the class continues. We will work on some tricky steps, but rhythm and tempo will be the main focus.
Mambo Footwork
Teaching Artist: Lola Rodriguez
Tuesdays May 20 – June 24 | 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
6-week session $60
Experience a fun and encouraging way to boost your confidence with body mobility, basic footwork technique, rhythm and musicality, and self-expression while learning Afro Latin Jazz influenced footwork (Mambo!) choreography.
** Suggested Prerequisites: This class is geared for those dancers considered Advanced Beginners (dancers with previous Beginner Level Salsa On1 or On2 classes and familiarity with timing; or other dance training).
** Recommended Dance Attire: Loose, comfortable clothing; jazz shoes or jazz sneakers; practice shoes with Cuban heel or 1.5 or 2.5 inch dance heels.
Intermediate Ballet

Wednesdays May 21 – June 25 | 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
6-week session $60
Classical Ballet is a beautiful art form that, reconnected to as an adult, can be deeply gratifying. This class is a gentle and yet rigorous exploration of Ballet as an exercise regimen and therapeutic practice. The main styles of Enriqué Cecchetti and Agrippina Vaganova are used to provide adults with an increased understanding of ballet technique, including barre work, center practice, traveling, and réverance.
Beginning Modern
Teaching Artist: Elana Denise Anderson, PhD
Thursdays May 22 – June 26 | 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The class scheduled for Thursday, June 19 has been moved to Wednesday, June 18 (5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.) in observation of the Juneteenth holiday.
6-week session $60
This class introduces the modern technique of Lester Horton in a way that lengthens, strengthens, and fortifies the body. Using music from all genres, dancers will approach this practice from a meditative standpoint, with guided focal points from the teaching artists regarding proper alignment, execution, and personal expression. Each class includes warm-up exercises and a culminating combination.
Hip-Hop/Breaking
Teaching Artist: Francois Achan
Fridays May 23 – June 20 | 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
5-week session $50
The purpose of the class is to establish individual rhythm, while using the foundation of hip-hop movement to build dancer’s vocabulary. It is also designed to teach students how to adapt to what they are listening to and train them to use the vocabulary to stay on beat and show a variety of steps to do so. This class will help students develop character and presence within a hip-hop space.
Beginning Ballet

Fridays May 23 – June 20 | 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
5-week session $50
This class is designed for the adult dancer/student with minimal to no experience in Ballet! The class will explore the traditional structure of a Ballet class, positions of the arms, legs, and feet, epaulement, differences in jumps, and choreographic elements of Ballet.
Intermediate Modern

5-week session $50
This class is a continuation of Adult Beginning Modern. It is a movement practice based upon and rooted in the modern dance technique of Lester Horton, a foundational, codified, body-conditioning technique that allows dancers of all abilities to witness and direct their own progress. The class is structured in the same way as the Adult Beginning Modern class, but with a deeper dive into the warm-up exercises, preludes, and fortifications of the technique.
