The Hiland Theater Registration
Welcome to NDI New Mexico at The Hiland Theater! We have school year classes and summer classes for ages three to adult in our Young Children’s Division, Junior/Senior Division, Pre-Professional Division and Adult Division.
NDI New Mexico provides affordable rigorous performing arts programming that builds technical skills and personal character and is accessible to all children. We provide a well-rounded experience in the Performing Arts and welcome children of all abilities. NDI New Mexico provides programming that contributes to children’s success in life through healthy attitudes, rigor, discipline and creativity. Students’ experience is consistent with NDI New Mexico’s methodology of joyous learning while the teaching re-enforces the NDI New Mexico Core Four: work hard, do your best, never give up and be healthy. Sliding scale tuition is available to ensure that all children can participate in classes.

Young Children’s Division:
Young Children’s Division classes are based on the renowned Dance for Joy curriculum created by Allegra Lillard. The classes support physical, mental, social, and emotional development in young children. They also develop school and life readiness in a joyful and creative environment.

Junior Division
In the Junior and Senior Divisions, children begin the path of pursuing training in a variety of dance disciplines. Advancement to the next level is only upon recommendation of the current teaching artist. Classes culminate in a joyful and creative Showcase for families and the community to see and celebrate the dancers’ achievements.

Teen Division
Our teen classes are designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and creative. In a fun, low-pressure dance environment, students can express themselves, connect with their peers, and build confidence. Whether you’re brand new to dance or looking for a relaxed, enjoyable way to keep moving, you’ll fit right in.
Come move, laugh, and express yourself with people who get you. These classes are about finding your crew, feeling like you belong, and doing something creative and fun together.

Hip-Hop Crew
The Crew has a 2 hour practice each week and all crew members take at least one breaking and one hip-hop class per week in addition to the practice. The Crew will have various performance opportunities, will participate in at least two Jams per year and will perform in showcase.

Musical Theatre Ensemble
This Ensemble is by audition or invitation and is for ages 12 and up. Participants take a two –hour Musical Theatre III class and two additional dance classes per week. The Ensemble will have special performance opportunities throughout the year and will be part of the end-of-year showcase.
